Refugees On Film

  • Lansdown Hall Lansdown GL5 1BB (map)

Refugees on Film are delighted to bring you a brand new documentary Baghdad on Fire from one of our friends Karrar Al-Azawi. We meet Tiba, a young protestor and revolutionary and see the protests of 2022 unfold through her eyes as she transforms - leaving an abusive marriage and fighting for freedom for all. A refugee from Iraq, Karrar has made a new life in Norway and since his portrait film, created for our Refugees on Film screening in 2019, Karrar has been studying at TV School, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, Lillehammer. Baghdad on Fire is his international debut film.

Discussion is led by Dr Richard Dean, a local GP who has spent the past 6 years working in refugee camps in France and Greece.  120 mins including discussion
