The legacy of Denis Burkitt’s ground-breaking cancer research in 1960s Africa affects the lives of millions of people worldwide. Director, Éanna Mac Cana combines rich archive material and
his personal experience of Burkitt’s Lymphoma through a unique, layered artistic lens. He deftly weaves patterns and chance events between lives, eras and cultures. The result is an engaging, at times lyrical, exploration of illness, trauma, oncology, colonialism and medical ethics.

Denis Burkitt is buried in Bisley. His daughters will be present for Q&A, alongside the director.
